Reiki FAQs

Do I need faith?

No is the simple answer to this question, healers work from a wide range of philosophies and many see their ability as a natural resource.

Nothing is expected from the patient except certain openness to anything that happens and a degree of trust in the healer.

An awareness of the need to change and the motivation to do so can also be helpful.

How often do I need to go for healing?

A number of sessions may be needed depending on the nature of the problem.

If it is not your first time it may take two or three sessions for you to relax into the process.

we encourage you to discuss your progress with the practitioner and to tell them any positive benefits that you may have had from healing.

Can I just Have healing and see my doctor?

Healing is not a substitute for, or, alternative to main stream medicine.  Healing should be seen as a compliment to other forms of treatment.

Doctors are allowed by the GMC to refer patients on to a healer for healing.

Is Reiki safe for children?

Reiki is ideal for children, not only do they enjoy the sensation from the energies, they also respond very quickly to the treatment. This is because children have fewer expectations of how the Reiki energy will flow.

I am not ill, can I still have Reiki?

Reiki does not require a specific diagnosis to respond to.  If you are in good health you can still gain benefit from Reiki.  It can aid your relaxation levels which in turn reduce stress levels, Reiki can also help with your immune system.  If you are a therapist of any sort, Reiki can help you by giving you a boost of energy, this is especially important if you work with healing energies.  A Reiki treatment will help to balance out your chakras and get them working to optimum levels.

Can I do anything to make the Reiki work better?

After a treatment you may undergo a detox to your system, you can help this along by drinking plenty of water, sleeping more and by avoiding junk food and alcohol.  Your Reiki healer should always be able to help you should you have any concerns regarding your last treatment.

Reiki has not made any difference to me, even after a couple of sessions...why?

You will always have an improvement with Reiki, sometimes it is a subtle improvement and one that we do not notice straight away.  Some people react quickly while others, a slower progress is made, it does not mean it is working any less for you it just means it is taking a little longer.  Be assured though that the Reiki energy is working at the right pace for you.
